Summary
Security officers assigned to this position provide services in which the client’s health, safety, and security is our #1 priority. The Apple Store is located on the 2ndfloor of the 5thAvenue Mall. Assigned guards will be armed while dressed in business casual dress.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Visually monitors all guests approaching and entering the Apple Store.
Verbally warns would-be guests of rule infractions in an attempt to prevent an unsafe environment for Apple employees and guests.
Visually monitors all guests in the store, being alert for escalated interactions between customers and employees.
If needed and called upon by Apple management, utilizes verbal de-escalation techniques to stabilize escalated interactions.
If needed and called upon by Apple management, escorts disruptive visitors from the store.
Reports and records data such as property damage, thefts, unusual occurrences, etc. in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Assists in properly responding to a variety of emergencies or disasters in order to preserve life and property, including but not limited to fire safety and/or active shooter situations, etc.
Other duties as assigned to meet the client’s and NMS’s success.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
High school or GED equivalent.
At least five (5) years civilian law enforcement experience.
Must be able to obtain and pay for the Alaska Guard License fee of $98.50 prior to beginning work.
Must possess or otherwise be able to obtain an Alaska Concealed Carry permit prior to beginning work.
Must be able to cooperate and work as part of a team with fellow employees, customers, and clients.
Must be able to make decisions in the moment with little to no supervision.
Must be able to be on your feet for up to 10 hours per shift .
Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read and write English.
Must meet and adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations set forth by the company and client.
Must be safety oriented as this is a safety sensitive position.
Must be able to cooperate and work as part of a team with fellow employees, customers, and clients.
Must be able to make decisions in the moment with little to no supervision.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Weather: Indoor/Outdoor. Frequently exposed to arctic conditions.
Noise level: Moderate to Loud
Description of environment:This is a shopping Mall open to thepublic.
Must constantly be able to stand, walk, climb, push, pull use hands and arms, stoop, kneel and crouch.
Physical requirements: Must be able to lift and move up to 50lbs.
