Description
This Porter position is responsible for making sure the facility looks neat and presentable. This position will be expected to perform basic facility maintenance, shipping and receiving, and custodial duties. The successful candidate will have good interpersonal communications skills and a positive attitude that fosters good relationships with the client and a good experience for their customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Complete minor repairs and building improvements.
Prepare rooms before and after meetings and/or events.
Lift and move furniture on a regular basis as needed for events or operational needs.
When applicable, place safety hazard signs in the building including wet paint and wet floor warning signs.
Monitor, clean and service washrooms as needed.
Respond to any major spills or other cleaning crises.
Clear snow and ice when applicable from walkways and parking areas following all company safety requirements.
Receive and deliver packages to the appropriate people.
Maintain inventory of all event equipment, promptly reporting anything that needs repair.
Maintain safety procedures by handling equipment and chemicals in accordance with safety protocols.
Work in a team environment to achieve team and facility goals.
Must be able to work nights and weekends as needed.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
Some experience with custodial and basic maintenance tasks preferred.
Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
Preferred Qualifications
- A valid driver’s license with a 3-year driving record acceptable to the company’s insurance carrier.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Weather: Indoor/Outdoor – occasional exposure to harsh weather conditions; requires work to be done both inside and outside.
Noise level: the noise level in the work environment is usually that of a standard office atmosphere.
Description of environment: Office building with standard office environment.
Physical requirements: Employee is required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift.
Travel: Employee may travel up to 25% of the time throughout Alaska and/or remote locations and may be required to use alternative modes of transportation, including but not limited to snow machines, boats, small airplanes and ATVs.
