NANA Regional Corporation Strategic Account Manager, Lower 48 & Tribal Lands ($90k/year+ DOE & Benefits) in Phoenix, Arizona

Job Description

The Strategic Account Manager holds a pivotal role in regional sales, with a primary focus on cultivating strategic business development opportunities. This position demands a keen understanding of operating within tribal lands and nations, specializing in selling NMS products and services. This position will be responsible for nurturing existing client relationships, identifying, and pursuing new prospects, and championing NMS's innovative solutions within the lower 48 states, with a particular emphasis on tribal communities.

This sales position will support selling all products and services provided by NMS. Services include food service, housekeeping, security, facilities services and more. This position will serve the Lower 48 states and tribal lands and territories. Target contracts include healthcare, higher education, K-12, casinos, and others which fit the NMS portfolio. This is a remote, work from home, position which requires travel in Alaska and the contiguous U.S. between 25%-40% of the time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a strong client-facing presence, taking the initiative in lead generation while pursuing new leads and opportunities.

  • Serve as a strategic product specialist, understanding and promoting NMS's 'single source solution' model, emphasizing the integration of products and services to create maximum value.

  • Meet and exceed new business growth goals within the targeted territories, achieving net organic growth within assigned accounts.

  • Develop strategic sales approaches that underscore the unique value proposition of NMS products and services within the lower 48 and tribal communities, creating competitive advantages.

  • Understand and meet the needs and expectations of all clients, fostering long-term customer satisfaction and loyalty.

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans tailored to the unique needs and opportunities within tribal communities, collaborating closely with operational leaders.

  • Understand multicultural communications and the importance of authentically engaging tribal communities.

  • Working knowledge of Public Law 93-638 (Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act).

  • Manage and nurture and assigned portfolio of existing clients while acting as a trusted business advisor to foster new partnership relationships.

  • Execute Strategic Account Plan for assigned portfolio.

  • Lead the Client for Life (CFL) process, ensuring ongoing customer satisfaction and retention through initiative-taking engagement and support.

  • Implement appropriate sales strategy to penetrate and develop specific accounts or markets.

  • Acquire product expertise in all NMS suite of services.

  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with decision-makers and key stakeholders within tribal communities and strategic partners.

  • Manage and assist in all aspects of contract management for assigned accounts, including renewals and rate negotiations.

  • Perform other duties relevant to the department and the success of NMS as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in sales, marketing or business equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • At least 3 years of outside sales, business development or account management experience in a relevant industry required.

  • Must have a proven track record of successful selling i.e., achieving consistent growth goals etc.

  • Experience in supporting strategy development in American Indian and Native American tribes and nations.

  • Knowledge of and experience authentically engaging tribes and nations to support engagement strategies.

  • Knowledge of and experience collaborating with organizations focused on American Indian and Native American tribes and nations.

  • Intermediate level experience with MS Office Suite, SF.com CRM.

  • Excellent written and interpersonal verbal communication skills required.

  • Availability for in-person meetings in Alaska is a necessary requirement for this position.

  • Availability to travel as needed across Alaska and the contiguous United States for business development opportunities, prospecting and fostering current client relationships.

  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record to be eligible under NANA’s vehicle insurance policy.

Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated track record in meeting or exceeding business goals, including revenue targets, etc. in similar business or with similar business dynamics, i.e., managing and developing senior relationships, managing multiple functions, departments, and opportunities, etc.

  • Must be a self-starter who can prioritize own activities and work autonomously, as well as within a regional or corporate environment.

  • Experience working with C-level executives on sales solutions.

  • Must be able to present multiple, integrated product/service solutions at various mid and high executive levels within commercial organizations.

  • Financial or accounting experience focusing on value proposition design; unit cost, total cost, and service improvements.

  • Analytical approach in presenting business solution.

  • Knowledge of decision-making processes.

  • Demonstrate outstanding communication and presentation skills and possess the ability to articulate competitive differentiation.

  • Ability to effectively handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Weather : Indoors - environmentally controlled; requires most or all work to be done inside. This may vary as the employee is visiting client sites or various work locations.

Noise level : The noise level in the work environment is usually that of a standard office atmosphere, site locations may vary.

Description of environment : Office building with standard office environment.

Physical requirements : Employee is required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift.

Travel : Employee may travel up to 25% to various locations within the U.S. and/or remote locations and may be required to use alternative modes of transportation, including but not limited to snow machines, boats, small airplanes, and ATVs.
